Based on his new book, Cultivating Compassion, Jeffrey Hopkins will guide us through Buddhist practices that help us develop compassion. The aim of this workshop is to begin removing some of the blocks that prevent us from feeling active empathy towards others.

The book, published by Broadway Books, includes anecdotes from Jeffrey's years as the Dalai Lama's interpreter, as well as his own experience as a practitioner. It will be available for purchase at the event.

Jeffrey Hopkins, Ph.D., served as the chief interpreter to the Dalai Lama for a decade. A Buddhist scholar-practitioner and the author of more than twenty-five books and translations, he is Professor of Tibetan and Buddhist Studies at the University of Virginia, where he founded the largest academic program of Tibetan Buddhist studies in the West.
