How to Meditate

by Kathleen McDonald

and the Shakymuni Buddha Practice

During Venerable Chodron's summer absence, DFF students will study Venerable Sangye Khadro's (Kathleen McDonald) How to Meditate. Ven. Sangye Khadro herself will be quest teaching at DFF during the week of July 5. The text itself is an overview of the major types of meditation in Tibetan Buddhism and provides meditations for each, including all the meditation practices of the lam rim. It will be a wonderful review for everyone and a precious opportunity to discuss our meditation. For those a bit newer to practice, this will be a very timely study, focusing on that aspect of Dharma which is often the most difficult in the beginning. For those who are completely new to Buddhism, the two-month class could serve as an excellent introduction to Buddhist meditation.
